ABOUT
why power together
Many people in Colorado face high energy bills and limited access to programs that can help them transition to cleaner energy options, like solar power or electric vehicles. These challenges make it hard to save money and protect the environment.
Power Together: Energy Solutions for Colorado Communities is a team effort by the Latino Community Foundation of Colorado (LCFC) and Xcel Energy Colorado. We want to talk to the people throughout Colorado to learn about their Energy Journey. By listening to their stories, we hope to make energy programs easier to use, and more accessible, so that everyone in the community can get the help they need.
HOW DOES POWER TOGETHER WORK?
A key part of Power Together is the involvement of Community Action Partners (CAPs). CAPs are trusted community members who help people navigate their Energy Journey and find the right programs to meet their needs. They:
Understand community challenges through direct conversations: CAPs listen to people’s stories to identify barriers like confusing applications, lack of awareness, language accessibility or high costs, ensuring programs address real challenges.
Share feedback with decision-makers to improve programs: CAPs
gather insights from the community and share them with program
leaders at LCFC and Xcel Energy to make energy programs easier to
use and more effective.
Ensure solutions are meaningful and accessible for everyone: CAPs help shape changes that reflect community needs, solve problems and build long-term trust.
